Biography

Breath of the Wild

Cleff is a Zora shopkeep that runs the Coral Reef at the Marot Mart in Zora's Domain. He is known to have a serious demeanor, in contrast with his sister Tona's excitable personality.^[1] When he is first spoken to, Cleff will welcome Link and explain that the General Store sells Swift Violets, which can help one run faster.^[4] He also shares that they sell Arrows, encouraging Link to grab whatever he wants to buy.^[5]

If Link asks about the Coral Reef, Cleff explains that it is a General Store where one can buy fresh Fish.^[6] While they do sell Arrows, due to the Zora's weakness to Electricity, they do not stock Shock Arrows.^[7]

When asked about business, Cleff will admit that things have not been great.^[8] He initially tells Link that he is worried about the Coral Reef's business, since there are not many travelers coming to Zora's Domain to make purchases.^[9] After Divine Beast Vah Ruta has been calmed, Cleff will remark that business is improving, and he no longer believes that he will have to close his General Store.^[10]

Cleff will accept any Items that Link wants to sell to him, encouraging him to take his time choosing what to sell.^[11]^[12]^[13]^[14] As they do business, Cleff will be grateful and ask Link if he wants to sell more Items.^[15]^[16]^[17]^[18] When Link ends their business at night, Cleff warns him to be careful going out after dark.^[19]
