Oppose What's the scope of "near"? If we have this property for monuments, do we need a whole other set of properties for things that are near other things? Like ArthurPSmith says, we already model types of thing and their geo-locations, so finding notable things of a type that are "near" things of another type is properly done by querying, and this way the user can specify what things they consider interesting and how close they want them to be.
