- Motivation
Property needed to associate files on Commons with OTRS ticket numbers. This should be mostly Commons-only property used by Structured Data on Commons, however some tickets might be for photographs or artworks well known enough to have their own item on Wikidata. Oppose The method of use is unclear and I do not think it is useful data for readers or even contributors David (talk) 08:05, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- David Perhaps I did not spell it all out. The method of use is clear: We have almost 1 million pages calling c:Template:PermissionOTRS template, and as part of Structured Data on Commons we need to move this information to wikidata-like structure on Commons. However many of the permissions in OTRS relate not to individual files but to artworks which have items on Wikidata, like Ruins in Reninghe (Q19926393) → 2009082810037404. For such items we need this property to correctly model copyright statement as discussed in Help:Copyrights. - Jura You are right. Sitelinks of Wikimedia VRTS (Q4063423) describe the type of info these tickets should contain. I generalized it to "email correspondence related to the copyrights". On Commons it is usually standard form stating that "I the copyright holder release following works under following license...". - Andy We do not have any control over what people donate to us, sometimes it is one photo and sometimes it is a whole category. If this property is going to replace current template based system on Commons than we need to be able to store info on both types of donations. --Jarekt (talk) 02:57, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
