Motivation
[edit]The ORACC Sign List is a curated signlist which summarizes occurrences of cuneiform signs from the ORACC repository (https://oracc.museum.upenn.edu), one of the biggest online repositories for cuneiform texts available.
At the same time, Wikidata has collected cuneiform signs in terms of QIDs for Unicode codepoints, but also in terms of QIDs for compound signs and for signs which are not represented in Unicode.
An overview of the imported signs can be found here: https://situx.github.io/paleordia/script/?q=Q401&qLabel=cuneiform
The ORACC Sign list has included the Wikidata QIDs already (as you can see on the respective pages, e.g. http://oracc.org/osl/signlist/o0000499), so it would be fitting if Wikidata could link to ORACC Sign list ids as well.
Finally, the property would be a good supplement to property ePSD2 ID (P11062) which links Wikidata Lexemes to the dictionary resources provided by ORACC.

Discussion
[edit]- Support seems fine to me, nice to have real identifiers for these ancient signs. ArthurPSmith (talk) 13:47, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
