Motivation
[edit]GISAID (https://www.gisaid.org/) is a system for promoting the rapid sharing of virus data, including for influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses. It assigns identifiers for individual virus clades. It is complementary to systems such as PANGOLIN and Nextstrain. The Anome (talk) 09:30, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]WikiProject Taxonomy has more than 50 participants and couldn't be pinged. Please post on the WikiProject's talk page instead. This would be very useful right now, as tracking SARS-Cov-2 variants is a live subject right now; this can also be extended to tracking other infectious virus clades, per the GISAID mission statement. -- The Anome (talk) 09:49, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
Notified participants of WikiProject Medicine Since no-one in the Taxonomy group has yet commented here, I thought I'd bring this to the attention of the Medicine WikiProject. Any comments very welcome. -- The Anome (talk) 00:22, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
