Motivation
[edit]This is modeled after CRAN project (P5565) 
, with the main difference being that Bioconductor assigns DOIs — i.e. DOI (P356) — to its entries, so a dedicated property for Bioconductor packages may not be strictly necessary but given the large number of items that have DOIs and are not Bioconductor packages, it would be more convenient for curation, exploration and maintenance. Of note, Bioconductor discourages double hosting, so for any point in time (or for any release), there is no or nearly no overlap to packages hosted on CRAN. - Support This is an identifier of use to meta:WikiCite and Wikidata:WikiProject Source Metadata. The application is that the bioconductor registry connects resources to academic publications. Getting this data into Wikidata amplifies the value of the WikiCite corpus. This property proposal is for an identifier, so is routine and low risk for causing problems.
