This template provides a uniform header for Wikidata discussion boards (project chat, requests for deletions etc.).

Template parameters[Edit template data]

This template prefers block formatting of parameters.

description	description	Description of the discussion board: what is it for, board-specific rules, other similar discussion boards etc.	Content	required
language code	lang	Code of the language the box content is written in. Specifying the language makes possible for screen readers and other assistive software to handle it correctly (e.g. read out in the right language). Default en Example fr	Line	suggested
hide translate link	hidetranslate	Hide the translate link even if the translations page is specified. Simply skipping the “translations” parameter has the same affect, so this parameter doesn’t make much sense.	Line	deprecated
translations page	translations	Full name of the translatable header page if one exists (usually a /Header/text subpage of the discussion board). Example Wikidata:Requests for deletions/Header/text	Page name	optional
translate link text	translate-caption	Link text of the translation link. It is suggested to use this and make it translatable, as the default text is English-only. Default Translate this header box!	Line	optional
hide new section button	hidebutton	Hide the new section button.	Line	optional
preload page	preload	Title of a page that will preloaded (as if it were substituted) into the new section’s text body.	Page name	optional
preload title	preloadtitle	Preloaded title of the new section created using the button (can be overridden by the user).	Line	optional
new section text	new section	Text of the new section button, by default the translation of the MediaWiki message “lqt_new_thread” in user interface language.	Line	optional
hide new section tab	nonewsectionlink	Don’t force the new section tab on the top of the page (it appears on talk namespace pages anyway, but this parameter hides it in content namespaces like the Wikidata namespace).	Line	optional
