administrative entities?
[edit]Does it make sense to use this for the non-political chief of administration in a municipality? A relevant item is probably city manager (Q696776). -- Innocent bystander (talk) 19:09, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
Regarding my edit about director / manager (P1037) not being a subproperty of (P1647) chairperson (P488): If anything, shouldn't this be the other way around? The Danish label for chairperson (P488) is chairman, - and so for the other languages I see except for English where it is a more generic "leader". — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 11:10, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
Gender neutral labels in French
[edit]Following this request for comments, the French label now includes the male and the female form. PAC2 (talk) 16:46, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
"manages any group"
[edit]is either overstating things or talking about leaders, not managers or directors who solely apply to middle-level management in organizations.
I've changed it to leader and added commander since this seems to be the only category to act as the flip side of "commanded by" but, if that's wrong, kindly do a better job tightening up the description to capture what this is really trying to say. LlywelynII (talk) 03:37, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- The current English label is not ideal, but I don't think a change to leader is appropriate, but rather makes it even more confusing (suggesting a much less formal authority). Per current usage the property is mostly used for religious organization, businesses or organizations, thus current label is not that problematic. It is not reasonable to shift the meaning of the widely used property. Note also 80+ labels in other languages based on the English label. Jklamo (talk) 10:56, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
