realized I never replaced my old pinned post uhhhh

HI hello I'm Noa aka Nacho, I'm old enough to remember seeing Shrek in theaters, and I'm a giant nerd. My pronouns are he/they and I like animation, marine biology, books, needlefelting, and sonic the hedgehog. I don't currently have a main fandom but I do have a Xiaolin Showdown AU fanfiction I've been working on since 2015 that has its own blog here.

anyway enjoy blog! kick your shoes off, stay a while, say hi if you wanna. thanks byyyee

Uh. Yeah. I'm gonna need to hear a little less about "cottage core" from you and a little more about "reactor core", because you're the only one who hasn't weighed in yet and we're pretty much out of ideas about how to stabilize it.

Congrats on the successful surgery!! I HAVE to ask: did they just wrap your orca in gauze? Or did they also give him little stitches? (Either way, I love that the medical staff did that!! They rock)

They just wrapped him! But they did put a gauze pad under the bandage on his stomach, which is adorable.

I'm kind of glad they didn't try to stitch him up tbh, he's an old man and I don't know if his fabric would agree with stitches.

First off, spin this wheel.

You just landed on one of 200 fandoms that have been very popular somewhere on Tumblr over the years. Topics were chosen either from appearing on a @fandom end-of-year recap or from my own long (long, long) site memories before that.

also all of these fandoms are definitely things that really exist in the real world and none of them are Tumblr creations

my favorite kinds of responses to The Post so far:

- people making really bad (read: hilarious) puns about "orcaectomies" or "hysterorcamies"

- people sharing their own cute stories about care staff bandaging their stuffed animals during surgery

- people sharing pictures of their own stuffed orcas (we should start a club or something)

- people saying that the post helped them with trauma from a bad surgical experience or is making them less scared for an upcoming one <3

Who would win at arm wrestling, Vlad or Clay?

it really depends.

Vlad is taller, has longer arms, and seems to be heavier: all very important stats in arm wrestling. But he thinks only after doing something, and used to winning by brute force; or if brute force doesn't work, by cheating or just playing dirty.

Clay goes by the rules most of time, so he can be out-cheated, but he also thinks before he acts, and has more practice overall (because, let's be honest, no one is training heylings like master Fung trains monks).

So in case of an episode, build around those two, it would go something like this:

First showdown, first round. Vlad tries to win by force, but Clay recognizes it quickly and uses whatever arm wrestling technique Master Fung showed him at the beginning of the episode (in a funny scene where he throws Clay in the air thanks to it, of cource). Vlad is frustrated and pissed off.

First showdown, second and third rounds: Both rounds Vlad is cheating so he wins each time. Clay notices, but he can't really do anything. Or he thinks so.

Monks are defeated, heylings are cheering. Followed by 5-8 minutes of intense personal growth, in which Clay learns that sometimes you have to treat assholes like an asshole.

Second showdown: Vlad wins the fist round, gets overly confident, then proceeds to lose every remaining round with flying colors thanks to Clay's new yet unheard of skill (cheating).

at the end Clay learns a lesson about morals, assholes, and morals of fighting against assholes. Vlad also learns a lesson about Clay being really hot when angry, so he should piss him off as much as possible

and bonus little scribble!!

i think it's cute when americans talk about being from the 'great state of connecticut' or like 'the great state of wisconsin.' not when it's texas or new york or california obviously because then there's the fear that they're being serious. but when americans adopt that really earnest tone and are like 'god bless the great state of delaware' in response to a picture of a seagull swallowing an entire ziplock bag full of cheese-its. I think that's very endearing

you are all adorable

I believe in you brother!!!!! I would say that if you have any kind of transgender centers/doctors that specialize in trans care in your area they're a good place to start.

your post sharing about your orca’s hysterectomy crossed my dash and sparked great joy 😂 congrats to you both ahaha! I hope your recovery’s going well. I’m very interested in getting one too and have just begun researching it. if you don’t mind posting about it online, how has your recovery process been? all my well wishes! <3

Thanks so much! And good luck in your own hysto journey! I got a lot of good advice from friends who've had one (the advice was mostly "rest a lot," which I've been doing lol).

Recovery so far has mostly involved sleeping. The pain isn't as bad as I was worried it'd be, it's been very manageable and I've been able to walk around and go up and down the stairs in my house (though I'm doing so sparingly and carefully). I was in a LOT of pain the day of surgery, it took a while to get discharged because they couldn't get my pain levels down and the drive home was pretty miserable. But after I slept it off a bit I felt much better.

If you want some of the gorier/grosser details I'd be happy to answer off anon but also, there's not that many gory/gross details to share haha.

The weirdest thing so far has been that I woke up from surgery with a fat lip bc I guess I must've bitten it while I was under, so that's been a little annoying to deal with but it's whatever lol.
