Twitter is a dumpster fire
I was writing a book in the tags… but I like this article, and I’m sorry Lindy left. However the assumption everyone can just up and leave twitter in a show of solidarity is erroneous. @Karnythia pointed out that she can’t leave yet in a thread, and I’m guessing a lot of POC, disabled, LGBTQIA, other folks can’t just up and go because of the networking we do. The opportunities that come because of twitter connections. So while it’s a good idea in theory, for a lot of us it’s not practical to just dump twitter and go.
That’s the thing...too many of us can’t just leave. The last vestiges of the concept that “the internet” and “real life” are separate need be abandoned and we should all face reality. This IS real life, and this is what too many people have allowed real life to become.
