Sugar-Chex II, the aqueous glucose control formula for glucose
meters, is designed to simulate the viscosity and flow properties of
whole blood without red blood cells. Handling and disposal concerns
associated with whole blood glucose controls are eliminated. The control
is assayed for Lifescan FastTake, OneTouch II, and SureStep Pro;
Medisense Precision G and Precision Pcx; and Roche Accu-Chek Advantage.
With one control, all meters in the laboratory can be verified. The
control is available at three levels to test the daily quality of
glucose meters, therefore offers labs a quick and easy method to verify
calibration of the glucose meter. The control has a 24 month closed-vial
stability and 90 day open-vial stability when stored at room
temperature.
