Umebura 9 was a Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS super regional tournament held by Ayuha in Tokyo, Japan, on October 11th, 2014. It was the ninth tournament in the Umebura series. Unlike its predecessor, Umebura 8, it featured a single double elimination bracket. The champion of Umebura 8, Nietono, placed 2nd, losing to Choco in two sets of grand finals.
Ruleset[edit]
- Best-of-3 double elimination, 2 stocks 7 minutes.
- Both customization and all Mii Fighters were banned.
- Only Ω form stages were allowed. In addition, the Ω forms of Golden Plains, WarioWare, Inc., Balloon Fight, Dream Land GB, PictoChat, Flat Zone 2, and Pac-Maze were banned.
- There was no stage striking or counterpick stage banning; the player selecting a stage could choose any legal stage.
- If a game ended with tied stocks and percent, the player who dealt the most damage throughout the game won. If it was still tied, a 1-stock rematch was played on the same stage.
