WITH CERVICAL CANCER AMOUNG WOMEN OF

REPRODUCTIVE AGE AT TEMEKE REGIONAL
REFERRAL HOSPITAL

STUDENT NAME: MSIFUNI EMANUEL GODSON

REGISTRATION NUMBER NS0615/0103/2013
UNIVERSITY NAME: KAMPLALA INTERNATIOAL

DATE OF PRESENTATION:
INTRODUCTION
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer affecting women
worldwide, after breast, colorectal, and lung cancers; that caused by human
papilloma virus .
Cervical cancer is most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of
cancer mortality among women in Africa, it is according to the recent
recommendations for cervical cancer primary prevention by human
papilloma virus vaccination and secondary prevention through screening.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Lack of awareness on cervical cancer has been identified as one of the
factors contributing to the high prevalence of cervical cancer among woman
of reproductive age in the developing country compared to the developed
country
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROBLEM
The importance of the study is to find out strategies which will be implemented to
control the prevalence of cervical cancer
BROAD OBJECTIVE
To determine prevalence and risk factors associated with cervical cancer of
women of reproductive age at Temeke reginal referral hospital in 2023.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
i. To determine magnitude of cervical cancer among women of reproductive age
at Temeke regional referral hospital in 2023.
ii. To assess risk factor associated with cervical cancer among women of
reproductive age at Temeke regional referral hospital in 2023.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
i. What is magnitude of cervical cancer among women of reproductive age at
Temeke reginal referral hospital in 2023?
ii. What is risk factor associated with cervical cancer among women of
reproductive age at Temeke reginal referral hospital 2023?
HYPOTHESES OF RESEARCH
• Immune suppressed example HIV/AIDS contributes to higher risk of
cervical cancer among women of reproductive age.
•Woman of reproductive age who has multiple partners has high risk to get
cervical cancer
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
STUDY DESIGN
The study design of the research will be retrospective cross section
study
STUDY AREA
This study will be conducted at Temeke regional referral hospital
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE
Sampling technique will be convenience sampling method
STUDY POPULATION
The study population will be women of reproductive age at Morogoro
regional referral hospital
SAMPLE SIZE
The sample size will be (325) obtained by
N= Z2P(1-P)/E2
Where;
N=Sample size
Z=standard Deviation of 95% of confidence interval which is 1.96.
P=Proportional of Cervical cancer
E = Marginal error which is equal to 0.05
DATA PROCESSING AND ANALYSIS
The data will be entered into the computer using software and exported
to statistical software for cleaning and further analysis of the data.
Descriptive statistics will be done to describe the populations using
measures of frequency, diseases occurrence, central tendency and
dispersion that displayed using tables but also the graphs drawing by the
use of Microsoft excel
INCLUSION CRITERIA
Complete document or register book and the legal age of giving
consent form.
EXCLUSION CRITERIA
Incomplete document or register book with patients information and
below legal age of informed consent
DATA COLLECTION METHODS AND TOOLS
Data collection method will be Document reviewing
ETHICAL CONSIDERATION
A permission and ethical approval will be obtained from principal of
Kampala international university in Tanzania (KIUT) and
Administration of Temeke regional referral hospital. All informed
consent including on the ethical components starting with the objectives
and content of the study, privacy, data security,

STUDY LIMITATION
The following could be the problems when collecting data, errors in
individual data items, violation of protocol, the register books to not be
well filled.
