Introduction
 ELECTROCOAGULATION PROCESS:- Electrocoagulation (EC) is the technique
for applying Direct Current (DC) to sacrificial Electrodes that are submerged in an water.
 EC is a straight forward and efficient technique to remove the flocculationg agent.
 By Performing the electrocoagulation process we are going to settle down the colloidal
particles, metal hydroxides, polymeric metallic, etc and to reduce BOD and COD demand
to reduce the cost of effluent wastewater treatment.

Problem Statements
 Problems concerning water sanitation stem from the rise in urban migration and the
practice of discharging untreated waste water.
 Often, waste water from most industries are rich in heavy metals, this is because these
heavy metals find intense application in industrial process in the form construction
materials salts, pigments, etc.
 Due to their toxicity, the discharge of waste water containing heavy metals in
concentrations high above the acceptable standards pose a significant threat to human
health, water bodies and aquatic life, and the environment at large.
 To avoid this problem we provide a solution to decrease hazardous impurities from waste
water by Electrocoagulation method which is helpful for environment.

Objectives
 To study different methods to minimize sludge production and its environmental impact.
 Compare electrocoagulation's performance with traditional wastewater treatment methods.
 To Determine the best electrocoagulation conditions for optimal cleaning results.
 To design and implement proto type of waste water treatment by electrocoagulation and
water testing.
 To differentiate the Sewage Wastewater properties in terms of pH, Turbidity, Total
Suspended Solids ( TSS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Temperature before and after
treatment through an electrocoagulation.
 Settle down the solid impurities, and remove the dust-dirt's at best level using this
electrocoagulation method.

Proposed solutions
• By using renewable energy (solar energy) we are going to reduce total
cost of energy consumption.
• Electrocoagulation is one of the ETP treatment in which we are going
to reduce COD and BOD by passing DC current to eliminate other
chemical and costly processes to achieve appropriate quality of water.
• By using electrocoagulation less sludge is produced and we are going
to deal with effective wastewater treatment.
• After this we are going to differentiate quality of wastewater after and
before testing

Applications
 Industrial wastewater treatment: Removal of contaminants like heavy metals, oils, and
suspended solids from industrial effluents.
 Municipal wastewater treatment: Purification of sewage water before discharge into
natural water bodies and make it drinkable water.
 Agriculture: Treatment of agricultural runoff water to reduce pollutants before entering
waterways and to grow up healthy food materials.
 Food and beverage industry: Cleaning wastewater generated during food processing,
ensuring compliance with regulations. And also for cleaning of primary material with clean
and pure water.
