Summary

The Global SI partner portfolio contains 4 STP products which appropriate for Greenfield
deployments of STP and as replacements for hiS700

 STPs from TeleSys and NetNumber -> “recommended” products for Greenfield
deployments and hiS700 replacements

 STPs from Oracle and Tieto -> “approved” products for other specific requirements,
such as customer preference for a specific supplier

Replacements of hiS700 have to be only considered in cases

• maintenance expires and will not be renewed (life extender)
• with thread of getting the hiS700 swapped by competition

Recommendations for STP selection
STP products from TeleSys and NetNumber will be “preferred” products for Greenfield deployments
and hiS700 replacements
- Small to medium configurations (<=100k MSU)
1. TeleSys
2. NetNumber
- Medium to large configurations (>=100k MSU)
1. NetNumber
2. TeleSys

STP products from Oracle and Tieto will be “approved” products for Greenfield deployments and
hiS700 replacements
- Oracle
• Better for large configurations (>100k MSU)
• Operators looking for conventional STP platform with proven reputation
• Difficult cooperation and contractual T&C issues
• Doing also direct business when possible
- Tieto
• Technically good but too high price (no volume scaling)
• Contractual issues (managed ramp down) hinder long term business

NetNumber TITAN NG-STP Solution Overview
System Architecture
• TITAN STP consists of the TITAN Master and TITAN Edge nodes. Provisioning is executed on the TITAN
Master and replicated in real time to a constellation of TITAN Edges providing the signaling services.
• The TITAN Edges operate as a Mated Pair Active/Active.
• The platform grows by adding more Edges
• For E1/T1 TITAN NG-STP can be equipped with up the 4 Adax HDC3 cards
• TITAN NG-STP provides customer-defined service logic and customer-defined routing database
• STP is priced per TPS (= 2 MSU/s) + Base system
• Base system includes 2 Masters / 4 Edges instances
• TITAN NG-STP exposes the received messages to its application layer for:
- customer defined processing, Global Title Translation, Gateway Screening, GSM MAP Screening, Number
Portability, Message Manipulation

Summary
• Flexible Multi-application platform TITAN includes STP functionality
• Runs on COTS server or Telco Cloud
• Advances STP features can be realized (by NetNumber) project specific with service logic
• NetNumber formalized its STP function in 2014 an incremental enhancement to TITAN’s role as an IN-SCP
• Many TITAN customer references but no one with STP yet
• Quite good pricing per MSU/s with attractive volume degradation
• Relatively high professional service cost
• High SW maintenance & support fee (18%)
• MNP and DRA available on the same TITAN platform
• Good match to hiS700 features
• SW only reseller contract; HW have to be provided by Nokia
• NetNumber TITAN - NG-STP Product Description

Oracle (Tekelec) Eagle Solution Overview
System Architecture
• Each STP card act as a independent STP
• EAGLE platform supports key functions such as security, screening, routing, load
sharing, and triggering
• Supports multiple link interface types and industry standards for flexible
configuration and connection of network devices
• Capacity expansion by adding network cards
• Transaction Based Origin Routing
• Advanced ISUP screening and routing (including blacklisting)
• Advanced IDP Screening and blacklisting

Summary
• Well known in the market, big market share; many references
• Proprietary HW bases system (runs not on Cloud nor COTS Server)
• New HW modules planned
• Very high reliability
• No exit strategy (stay in STP business message)
• Very good match to hiS700 features
• No DRA on the same platform
• Very high reliability
• High pricing (but claim to be competitive against H//); many features prices extra
• Reseller might not get highest discount compared to their direct business
• Very low SW maintenance & support fee (4%)
• High professional service cost; (Typically 30% of the STP offer is for services)

Commercial consideration

 The global reseller contracts with both suppliers contain agreed prices for concerned SW products and
Professional Services (including Technical Support) in Appendix A (Product appendix)

 Prices in contract can be taken as “reference” as we have provision for “project specific price discussions” per
opportunity

 The agreed product and service price lists are not considering different price levels in different regions and
countries

In presales engagements with customer the following needs to be applied if one of the suppliers will be considered
- Involvement of Regional 3PM as the interface towards the supplier
- Involvement of supplier as soon as possible giving the partner enough time to deliver required input (Rfx
responses, SoC answers, quotations) and to re-negotiate prices if necessary
- Avoid considering both suppliers for the same opportunity, consult global team for selection
