WHAT ..LIKE?

USE
What .like? Mean: Describe
somebody or something. Tell me about them dont know anything about them. Ex: What s Megan s new boy friend like?

NOTE
1. We dont use like in the answer. Ex: What s your teacher like? She s very nice _ kind and patient. Not : She s like very nice _ kind and patient.

NOTE
2. Form of like Like is a preposition. In the question What like? Like is a preposition. Ex: What s Jim like? He s intelligent and kind. Like is a verb In these sentences, like is verb Ex: What does Jim like? He like motobikes and play tennis.

COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE


1. Long and short adj

Short adjective: have one syllable or


some two-syllable adjectives ending in Y. Ex: hot, large, lucky, pretty.

Long adjective: have two syllable or more.


Ex : intelligent , expensive, careful.

2. Comparative
Form: S + V + SHORT ADJ + ER + THAN + S S + V + MORE + LONG ADJ + THAN + S

USE
Superlatives compare somebody or something with whole group

EQUALITY
Equality use to compare something is the same or equal. FORM: S + V + AS + ADJ + AS +S EX: Marry is as tall as his sister.

Not equality
Not equality use to describle something isns the same or equal. FORM: S + V + NOT+ SO/AS+ ADJ+AS + S EX: She isnt as tall as me
