I) WHAT WILL WE LEARN TODAY?
● Meaning of feeling
● Words to remember
What is sadness?
We feel sad when someone we love does not talk to us or goes away.
It is a feeling that makes us want to cry sometimes or do nothing because we cannot think
properly.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
When I’m feelin’ happy, I’ll paint the sky bright blue.
If sad is what I’m feeling, then the tears I’ll paint are,
too.
● Words to remember
Sad feelings — like all emotions — are just a natural part of life.
1. Notice how you feel and why. 2. Bounce back from disappointments or failures.
● Henri Matisse grew up in the northern part of France. His father was strict with Henri. He went to
school in Paris and studied law.
● In 1889 Henri got something known as appendicitis which made him need to rest a lot.
● During his recovery his mother got him some art supplies for something to do.
● He fell in love with painting and art. He decided he wanted to become an artist. His father was very
disappointed.
● Henri began to explore painting. His mother encouraged him not to follow the normal rules of art,
but to try out new things and to paint his emotions.
Let’s look at one of Mr. Henri Matisse’s paintings
closely…

This section can be taken from the In My Mind workbook; however, additional activities can be executed by providing the students a little
homework they can practice throughout the week.
The best possible way to translate this would be in the form of a PDF file that can be sent on a group where all students are present,
encourgaing them to refer to the document and practice the activities mentioned.
