Definition of Haiku Poetry

A haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. These haiku


poems have 17 syllables, which is divided into three lines, 5-
7-5 syllables in each line.

● The first line contains 5 syllables


● The second line contains 7 syllables
● The third line contains 5 syllables

Most haikus mainly focus on nature,


weather and romantic moments.
Example Haiku

“Eyes meet, sparks ignite, -> 5 syllables
