The people responsible for discovering the evidence (the artifacts) from an event
that took place centuries ago are called archaeologists. To uncover evidence,
they carry out archaeological excavations and then run laboratory tests on the
items they discover. Without their discoveries we would not know very much
about our past.
Who Discovers the Evidence?
The places where
archaeologists excavate
and discover evidence
of human existence are
called archeological
sites.
