and
Regularities
Symmetry
A sense of harmonious and beautiful proportion of balance or
an object is invariant to any of the various transformations
Reflection/Bilateral Symmetry
-It occurs when a line is drawn to
divide a shape in halves so that each
half is a reflection of the other.
Radial Symmetry
-The condition of having similar
parts regularly arranged around
a central axis.
Symmetry
A sense of harmonious and beautiful proportion of balance or
an object is invariant to any of the various transformations
Translation Symmetry
-The results from moving a figure a
certain distance in a certain direction also
called translating (moving) by a vector
(length and direction)
Glide-Reflection Symmetry
-The symmetry that a figure has if it can
be made to fit exactly onto the original
when it is translated a given distance at a
given direction and then reflected over a
line
Fractals
- Is curve or geometric figure, each part of which has
the same statistical character as the whole
- One of the newest and most exciting branches of
mathematics
- Is a class of highly irregular shapes that are related
to continents, coastlines, and snowflakes
