Green Building
Suistainable energy building
A 'green' building is a building that, in
its design, construction or operation,
reduces or eliminates negative
impacts, and can create positive
impacts, on our climate and natural
environment.

4
Main Challenges that our planet is
facing:-
✗ Global climate change.
✗ Environmental contamination.
✗ Foul air and depletion of resources, due to increasing
amount of carbon element in nature.
✗ The concept of Green Buildings envisions a new
approach to save water, energy and material resources
in the construction and maintenance of the buildings
and can reduce or eliminate the adverse impact of
buildings on the environment and occupants.

5
Our buildings - both residential and commercial - use almost 40% of the
world's energy resources.
External shading, building orientation, cross ventilation, and improved
insulation in buildings are examples of passive design principles that
reduce reliance on energy intensive mechanical systems to maintain
moderate inside temperatures. The use of renewable energy minimizes a
building's environmental impact even more.
Building design that reduces energy use, keeps costs down and helps to
minimize the consequences of climate change.

✗ Building 2700 is rated as a Gold
LEED certified building by
Indian Green Building Council.

Building 2700, MN Park, Genome Valley, Hyderabad

12
Facilities of MN park:-

✗ Best-in-class, plug-and-play, fully furnished laboratory suites.

✗ Office spaces that are highly configurable and fully furnished,
with best-in-class facilities.
✗ A shared 8,000-square-foot storage facility.
✗ Shared state-of-the-art, fully-equipped 240-seater training rooms.
✗ A fully equipped all-day gym and a common cafe.
✗ The campus has plenty of parking.

13
Features of MN park:-
✗ Natural ventilation is the deliberate entrance of external air into a
space. It is mostly used to control indoor air quality, although it
can also be used for thermal comfort or dehumidification .
✗ High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) is an efficiency standard of
air filter.
✗ Light sources that are elevated and powered by solar panels are
either placed on the lighting structure or embedded into the pole
itself.
✗ LED lights are used which are efficient, controllable and lasts for
a longer time period.

14
Proposed green initiative for hvac
system:-
HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
HVAC refers to the different systems used for moving air between
indoor and outdoor areas, along with heating and cooling both
residential and commercial buildings. They are the systems that
keep you warm and cozy in the winter and feeling cool and fresh
in the summer.

15
Water cooled air-conditioned
system
 Cooling the condenser coil of a
chiller plant can be
accomplished by air cooling
with a finned coil or water
cooling with a cooling tower.
 Water-cooled condensers
typically operate at a
significantly lower head
pressure and use much less
energy.

16
Magnetic bearing chillers
Magnetic-bearing compressors feature:

 Quiet operation
 Light weight
 Low startup draw: about 2 amps, which
can reduce
 Reduced maintenance costs due to no
oil use.
 49% average power savings achieved
 6.4 years average return on investment

17
Thermal wheel system
 Heat wheels, also known as
enthalpy wheels, are rotational air-
to-air heat exchangers.
 High performance energy saving,
with 50% to 85% recovery
efficiency, depending on conditions
of use.
 Reduction of ventilation and
humidification costs.
 Very widespread use for industrial
ventilation

18
Condensate Recovery System
 Warm, humid air from the building is passed
over a cold air handler, which cools the air
in a conventional commercial air
conditioning system.
 In a condensate recovery system, the surplus
water is collected in a tank and used in the
building's cooling towers, reducing the load
on the sewers and water supply system.
 Improves energy efficiency
 Reduces water treatment chemical cost
 Reduces load on sewer system
 Meet environmental regulations

19
Automatic Tube Cleaning System
 The automated tubular cleaning system is a
one-of-a-kind hydro-mechanical cleaning
system that operates continually to keep heat
exchanger surfaces clean.
 The automatic tube cleaning system uses
specially designed sponge balls that are
introduced into the condensing water flow of
the chiller to clean the tubes.
 Results in up to 20% energy saving in hvac
chillers
 Results in up to 5% increase in power output in
case of power plants.
 Increases cooling capacity of hvac chillers
 Improves the life of the condenser tubing
 Improves the life of compressor

20
Dirt Separator
 A stainless steel diffuser screen is placed in a enlarged
chamber, causing changes in the turbulence of the water
flow. These velocity and pressure changes allow the air
in the water to be released and form micro bubbles. The
microbubbles will fuse together to generate larger
bubbles that will gather buoyancy and float upwards
before being removed from the separator by an
automatic air eliminator.
 Improves cost efficiency
 Increases life span of the equipment's, Saves time and
money
 Conservation of energy.
 Reduction in emission.

21
Conclusion:-
• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a global green building
certification programme. It consists of a set of rating systems developed by the nonprofit
US Green Building Council for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of
green buildings, residences, and communities (USGBC).
• In the Construction phase of the project Automatic formwork system and Quick form for
shear or core walls. Saves time and plywood used for wall construction.
• Doka(German Technology) and Peri formwork systems are used in this project By using
this construction technique the cycle time is reduced to 7 days while a conventional floor
cycle time will be 28days.
• Fast weather shielded working is possible because of the spacious all-around workspace.
• Integrated platforms, stair towers, and ladders ensure complete safety during working
operations and for up and down access.
