CASE STUDIES
Case Study - 1:
Sexually harassed woman employee - productive/influential culprit - You are the decision
maker (CEO/Owner):
1. What would be your immediate action?
2. What would you do to address the culture in your company?
3. Would the incident affect the way you hire your employee? If so explain?
4. Based on your answers, do a self introspection and identify your most important
personal value - explain your logic.
Case Study - 2:
An influential member of faculty is trying to influence the grades of his son/daughter -
requesting/threatening other faculty - he is close to you on a personal level. If you are
the CEO/Owner:
1. How would you deal with the situation?
2. What would you tell the faculty member trying to influence the grades?
3. Would you try to hush up the matter or would you do something to make common
guidelines applied to all?
4. Would the incident affect the way you hire your employees? If so explain?
5. Based on your answers, do a self introspection and identify your most important
personal value - explain your logic.

Friendship vs the right thing

Close friend (very talented - did not have time to prepare for
the exam due to personal troubles) - trying to cheat in the
exam - would give him the scholarship over another worthy
candidate
What would your reaction be?
1. Help him cheat
2. Complain on him
3. Try to dissuade him
4. Distance yourself away from him in the future
5. If that worthy candidate is you - what would be your
reaction.
Explain your reasoning
Friendship vs Team vs Right Thing

As part of the teamwork, a close friend of yours did not do any work or contribution. The
teacher wants to assess the contribution of each student while assigning grades. Here
are the 2 options you have:
a. Giving him credit for work he did not do reduces grades for teammates who did the work
b. Telling the truth would mean he fails the class

As a team lead, what would you do? Explain your reasoning. What values do
you prefer to uphold?
Family vs Career/Comfort
Your parents worked very hard to raise you and give you a good education. You went
abroad, made money and have your own family and are well settled. Your parents want
you to come and stay with them so they can feel secure
What would you do in that case?
Give reasons for your decision. What are the values you wish to uphold?
Social Responsibility vs Money/Work/Exam

1. You saw an accident on the way to college. There is no one to help - But you
have an important Exam in college.
What would your actions be? What are the values you wish to uphold?
