    The three colors of the German flag, means democracy and freedom of the German people that was formed after World War II.

    In Germany, the real responsibility for the education system are the states, while the government plays only a minor role.

    Secondary education includes four types of schools based on student's abilities, according to the recommendations of the teacher: the Gymnasium includes the most gifted children and prepares them for university study, the Realschule has a wide range of content for intermediate students; the Hauptschule prepares pupils for a vocational school and Gesamtschule, or integrated school, which combines the three paths.
