Symbolic Interactionist
• This theory state that people interact with one
another through symbols.
• According to this theory, people attach meaning to
symbols and then they act according to their
subjective interpretation of these symbols.
• Language is a predominant symbol among people.

1. An individual’s action depends on meaning


2. Different people may give different meaning to
the same thing
3. Meaning changes as individuals interact with one
another.

Conflict Theory
• According to this theory, there are always
two opposing sides in a conflict situation.
People takes sides between maintaining the
status quo and introducing changes then
arrive at an agreement.
• Conflict theory welcomes conflict for that is
the way to the establishment of a new
society.

Mores
• are moral norms, meaning they have an element of right or wrong.
• examples of mores include lying, stealing, gossiping, bullying, and
trespassing.

Folkways
• are a category of norm that is roughly translated to a 'social or
cultural custom'.
• Examples of folkways include covering your mouth when you cough
or wearing covered shoes to a restaurant.
• Folkways are norms of etiquette that are not very serious if broken.
• They are mostly customary and polite.
