AIR
CONDITIONER
 Air conditioning is the process of removing heat
and controlling the humidity of air in an enclosed
space to achieve a more comfortable interior
environment by use of powered "air
conditioners" or a variety of other methods,
including passive cooling and ventilative
cooling.
 It is a system used to cool down the temperature
in an inside space by removing the existing heat
and moisture from the room. Essentially, they
work by taking warm air into a system and
dispersing cold air.

SPLIT AIR
CONDITIONER
 A split system is an HVAC system that has both
indoor and outdoor units that are connected with
copper tubing. There are many different types of
split systems, which can include either a heat
pump or air conditioner installed outside your
home, paired with either a gas furnace or a fan
coil located inside your home.
 The air conditioner, which is divided into two parts,
is called a split air conditioner. This is divided into
two units that are indoor unit and outdoor unit. In this
type, the multi-split air conditioner is also available,
which provides more than one inside unit and only
one outside unit.

remains outside the room. This air conditioner
requires more space and is difficult to relocate.

condenser, compressor, condenser coils, evaporator
fan, evaporator coils, and air inlet grill, filter and

PACKAGE AIR
CONDITIONER
 Package air conditioner is a bigger version of
the window air conditioner. However, unlike
window air conditioner, it has a higher
cooling or heating capacity and is usually able
to cool an entire house or a commercial
building. The nominal capacities ranges from
3 tonne to 15 tonne.
 The conditioned air are transferred to the
space to be conditioned through ducting
which is usually hidden in the ceiling and wall
of the building. The unit is placed outside the
house, a special room in a building or even on
top of a roof.

CENTRAL AIR
CONDITIONER
 Central air conditioners circulate cool air through
a system of supply and return ducts. Supply ducts
and registers (i.e., openings in the walls, floors, or
ceilings covered by grills) carry cooled air from
the air conditioner to the home.
 This cooled air becomes warmer as it circulates
through the home; then it flows back to the
central air conditioner through return ducts and
registers. Air conditioners dehumidify the air to
improve comfort.
