Introduction
• Robo sand is a ideal substitute of river sand.
• It is manufacturing just the way nature has done for over a
million of years.
• It is numerous advantages over river sand have made if a
favorite and must to use with quality conscious builder.
• Robo sand is created by a rock hit rock crushing technique
using state of art plant and machinery with world class
technology.

• Experimental program
• In this project we find out the effect of replacement of natural
sand by manufacturing sand with 0%, 20%, 50%, 70%,and
100% on the all properties of cement concrete. The
experimental works includes the casting, curing and testing of
specimens of M30 grade.
• Also we test Compression and tensile strength of the sample
after curing in HCL and Mgso4.

S NO AUTHOR TITLE RESULTS
1 M. Aradhan Partial replacement of river • It is concluded that the use of
Rao sand with robo sand in robo sand as a substitute of
concrete production river sand in concrete
production is a good choice.
• The quality of river sand
normally depends on its source
and most of the time it varies
quite a lot. Hence manufacture
sand has been identified as
substitute for river sand.
• The source of natural sand and
its high cost could encourage
the adoption of robo sand by
50% replacement of natural
sand.

2. Srinivash Replacement of natural • The effect of partial

reddy (2003) sand with Robo sand in replacement of natural sand by
specified concrete mix. robo sand on the compressive
strength of cement concrete of
grade M25 (1:1.4:2.88) with
water cement ratio as 0.44 are
studied.
• The compressive strength of
cement concrete with 20%,
40%, 60% replacement of
natural sand by robo sand
reveals higher strength
compared to 0% replacement.

3 Nakin Adding Silica • It concluded that addidlng

saksawang fume in HPC Silica fume to HPC increase
(2006) both the compressive strength
and the modulus of elasticity at
early ages.
• Other hand adding flyash to
HPC reduces both the
compressive strength and the
modulus of elasticity at early
ages, but they increase at later
ages.

increase in coconut shell
percentage from 5% to 15%
and maintained rob sand
constant (100%) and there is
gradually decrease at 20%and
25% replacement.
VARDHAMAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
(AUTONOMOUS)

Scope
• Replacing natural sand with different % of robo sand so that
clear variations of strength can be plotted as well as optimum
amount can be determined.
• Conducting investigation for M40, M50 and also for high
strength concrete.
• Conducting chloride penetration test and water absorption
tests on concrete to ensure adequate durability.
VARDHAMAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
(AUTONOMOUS)

Objectives
• To evaluate the workability characteristics in terms of Slump
for M30 grades of concrete by replacing the fine aggregates
with robo sand percentage of weight i.e (0%, 20%, 50%, 70%,
100%).
• To evaluate percentage increase in compression strength,
flexural strength split tensile strength and physical properties
to M30 grade of concrete with robo sand.
• To evaluate the difference of performance between natural
sand and robo sand
VARDHAMAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
(AUTONOMOUS)

Methodology
• Collecting the materials
• Finding the properties like Consistency, Setting times,Specific
gravity, etc.
• Mix design for M30 grade concrete
• Casting cubes
• Curing – water curing and chemical curing(HCL, Mgso4)
• Testing – compression and tensile strength of concrete cubes.
