Research Methodology
This study utilized a qualitative research method to assess the effectiveness of using
Facebook in advertising a business. Specifically, this qualitative study was supported by the use
of a phenomenological research approach, in which the researchers presented the views of the
respondents involved in the study. According to Fuster, D. (2019), phenomenology is based on
the study of life experiences, in relation to an event, from the perspectives of the subject. The
main objective of phenomenological approach is to explore a phenomenon as it is witnessed and
perceived by the participants (Guilbeau, 2014). Thus, this study used this research approach to
gather data in regards with the effectiveness of using Facebook in advertising a business as the
respondents have their own observations or perceptions in the said phenomenon. Additionally,
there are various methods that can be used to conduct phenomenological research approach,
including interviews, conversations, and participant observation (Lester, n.d).
