Inventory MIC
Inventory MIC – Used to pull the information about a MIC Project’s
Fiber Component(s) from the MIC application once the Design
Approval Date has been set in MIC. The Fiber Component
information that was entered in MIC will be brought over into AM982
so that it does not have to be typed in again.

Inventory Imbedded
Inventory Embedded – Used to inventory additional strands to a fiber
cable that has already been inventoried in TIRKS. AM982 will only allow
the user to select from a list of Fiber Cable names that are already
inventoried in TIRKS for the Serving Wire Centers (SWC) of the A and Z
CLLIs entered by the user. This list of existing fiber cable names in
TIRKS comes from the FIT application

Important: If a brand new fiber cable needs to be inventoried then
the user should use the MIC system to add the fiber cable as a Fiber
Component to a new/existing MIC Project. Then the user can use
the Inventory MIC menu item to pull the MIC Fiber Component
(after Design Approval is set) into AM982 for inventorying in
TIRKS

•AM982 will display a Submitted page in the main right-hand frame of

the AM982 display. A new web browser sub-window will also open with
a message that the AM982 system is processing the request. The User
will not have to wait for the TIRKS processing to complete; they are
free to perform another action in TIRKS. The results of the TIRKS
processing will be displayed in the new web browser sub-window when
the processing is complete.

No Matching Records in AM982 (Detail Displayed)

The detail hyperlink will allow the

user to display and hide the detail
about each fiber feeder job.
If a matching AM982 record was
found then the detail information
that will be used (MIC data or
AM982 record) will depend on the
Upload Status of the AM982 record.
If the AM982 record has not yet
been uploaded to TIRKS then the
MIC data will be used. The existing
AM982 record’s data will be
overwritten by the MIC data.
If the AM982 record has been
uploaded to TIRKS then the AM982
record will be used.
In the example an AM982 record did
not already exist for the fiber feeder
so the MIC detail will be used.
