Grammar: Simple Present Tense (2)
Wh’s words : What, who, whom, which, where, when, whose, why
how/how many/how much/how long

Remember for the Wh’s question sentence:


If the answer to the Wh’s question is as the Subject (usually begins with “who”
and sometimes “what, which”), then the Wh’s question form in Simple Present
Tense must be as follows:

Wh’s word +V1 ?


e.g. : Who heads the Electrical Engineering department?

e.g.: She is an engineer.
They are talented in electrical engineering.
Both of them are electrical engineers.
(-) S + am not/isn’t/aren’t + adjective/ a/an-singular Noun/plural Noun.
(Y/N question) Is/Are + S + adjective/ a/an-singular Noun/plural Noun?
Yes, S + is/are.

Now, do you know how to build Present Continuous Tense sentences?

Formula:
(+) S + is/are + V-ing + O + Complement.
(-) S+ isn’t/aren’t + V-ing + O + Complement.
(Y/N question ) Is/Are + S + V-ing + O + Complement?
Yes, S + is/are./ No, S+isn’t/aren’t.

Writing: Vocabulary and Simple Present
Tense use in sentences
Link the items from previous slide that you have matched in sentences
using one of these phrasal verbs:

Examples:
• Electrical installation deals with cables and switchgear.
• Roads and bridges are the concern of civil area.
• Automobile is concerned with cars and trucks.
