CHARACTERISTIC DANCE OF ARGENTINA

Malambo This dance that lacks lyrics in its interpretation, is danced only by men and
represents the Argentine folklore of the southern region. The counterpoint Malambo is
performed between two men where a dispute arises to demonstrate which of the two has
the best skill, variety and precision in taking each step almost perfectly. The
particularity of this dance is that when the two men confront each other, neither can
repeat the movements of the other, so creativity and skill are essential to achieve
victory.
Milonga Dance milonga to take up some steps of Tango. Still, the most notable
difference between the two is the fast pace that characterizes it and its strong African
influences rooted in the culture of the countryside. While the tango has a more
melancholic air, the milonga is more energetic, fast and moving, it can be danced
between a man and a woman as is the tradition or on the contrary between couples of
the same sex and which is known as Milonga Queer.
