Recruitment
◦ Recruitment is a process of finding and
attracting the potential resources for filling up
the vacant positions in an organization. It
sources the candidates with the abilities and
attitude, which are required for achieving the
objectives of an organization.
Recruitment : How to increase candidate pool.

An organization can increase candidate by two sources they are Internal source & External Source.

1. Internal recruitment is when the business looks to fill the vacancy from within its existing workforce
2. External recruitment is when the business looks to fill the vacancy from any suitable applicant outside the business

Internal source of Recruitment
1. Present Employees Promotions and transfers from among the present employees can be a good source of
recruitment.
2. Previous Applicants Former Employee means an individual who has severed previously in the
organization.
3. Former Employees This is considered as internal source in the sense that applications from the potential candidates are
already lying with the organization. Sometimes, the organization’s contact through mail or messenger these applicants to fill
up the vacancies particularly for unskilled or semi- skilled jobs
4. Internal Advertisements (Job Posting) The internal job posting is a recruitment process where a candidate
is selected for the job who is already working in that same company.
5. Employee Referrals Employee referral is a structured program that companies and organizations use to
find talented people by asking their existing employees to recommend candidates from their existing
networks.
External source of Recruitment
1. Advertisements Job advertisement is an announcement that informs people that a certain job position is available. It is written in an engaging
tone and it contains information not only about the job position, but also about the company and the benefits they offer.

2. Campus Recruitment Campus placement or campus recruiting is a program conducted within universities or other educational institutions
to provide jobs to students nearing completion of their studies.

3. Walk-ins A walk-in job interview, also known as an open job interview, is an interview for employment where companies accept job
applications during a range of times when all applicants who are interested in applying can attend.

4. Consultants Consultants are group of people that are hired by organizations for recruiting and selecting candidate.

5. Contractors Contractors are used to recruit casual workers. The names of the workers are not entered in the company records. 
6. E-Recruiting E-recruitment, also known as online recruitment, refers to the use of web-based technology for the various processes of
attracting, assessing, selecting, recruiting and on boarding job candidates. Through e-recruitment employers reach larger number of potential
employees.

7. Word of Mouth Word-of-mouth recruiting is simple enough. The recruiting process happens naturally when company employees
narrate the merits of joining their company to their friends and acquaintances
