By: the reporter in front of you
• CHAPTER 10: P1 • Simon went to the hours of Kabesang Tales which is in between the houses of San Diego and Tiyana. P2 • The jewelry buyers came namely, Kapitan Basilio, his daughter Sinang with the husband, and also Hermana Penchang. Simoun showed them this 2 bags of jewelries of different kinds, style and history. While looking at the precious jewelry, Kabesang Tales thought that the jewelry of Simon would be of great help on his demice. The smallest gem is enough to redeem Juli and his father would be at peace. P3 • Nothing was bought on the old and antique jewelry of Simoun. But when he displayed his new and on trend jewelries, Sinang and other buy some. P4 • Simoun says that he is also buying some jewelry and he asked Kabesang Tales if he has something that he wants to sell. Sinang presented the necklace, and Simoung asked for a bargain. But when he learned that it was owned by his ex-girlfriend Maria Clara, who now when into the monastery, Simoun wants to buy it at a higher price of P500.00 or anything in exchange of his own jewelry that Kabesang Tales wants. Kabesang Tales thought about the offer but Hermana Penchang advised him that the jewelry should not be sold because Juli prefers to work rather than selling the jewelry of Maria Clara. Moreovr, Kabesang Tales said that he would first asked permission from her daughter, and Simoun agreed. P5 • Kabesang Tales went out to see his daughter, when he saw a priest and the new farm worker of his land laughing at him. He then went back to his house and told Simoun that he was not able to talk to his daughter. P6 • On the following day, Kabesanng Tales was gone and he brought with him the revolver gun of Simoun. Inside the gun’s case is his letter to Simoun and the necklace of Maria Clara. Kabesang Tales asked for forgiveness for taking the gun as he needs it because he joins the bandits. He warned Simoun to be careful he might fall into the hands of the bandits.
