We live today in a world that is growing together,
that changes ever faster, and that offers information
in abundance. Puma is convinced that in such a world
a brand's success depends on more than the quality
of its products. Behind the products there must be a
brand with its own unique personality. Only then will
it distinguish itself from the competitor's "white
mountains." Puma is determined to be one of those
special brands that tackle things in a different way:
unmistakable and convincing. In the midst of the
white mountains Puma will be the "Blue Mountain."
Puma will not be the biggest, but be visible in an
unmistakable way, as the alternative sports brand.

With the popularization of urban styles, Puma shoes
are in high demand. One of the most popular styles
of Puma to date is the Roma, launched in 1970 in
celebration of the Rome Olympics. The reissued
versions remain highly in demand as do many
reissued versions such as the Puma Suede, Puma
Basket, and Puma Clyde originally launched in the
1980's. While Puma sales only account for a small
portion of the overall athletic shoe and apparel
market, the company has been successful in
expanding into niche markets like yoga and motor
sports shoes, apparel and accessories and the brand
continues to dominate on the world soccer stage
because of its stylish cutting edge designs and
dedication to change and innovation.

The PUMA by Alexander
McQueen collection brings
another player to the designer
sportswear market. Having
seen a number of footwear
collections int he past, it will
be interesting to see
McQueen’s influence on the
German sportswear label on a
different platformWith themes
based on the world of boxing,
the designs are rather easy to
wear but more innovative than
perhaps some other
collaboration designer lines
out there.
