The key takeaways are that reforestation involves replanting trees in areas that have been deforested or damaged to restore forests and woodlands. It helps mitigate issues like pollution, global warming, and habitat loss.

Reforestation is the process of replanting trees in areas that have been deforested or damaged by natural disasters to restore forests and woodlands. It involves planting tree species suitable for the site.

Common reforestation techniques include natural regeneration through root suckering, stump sprouting or natural seeding as well as artificial regeneration through aerial/ground seeding, machine planting and hand planting.

WHAT IS REFORESTATION ???
 Reforestation is the restocking of existing forsets and
woodlands which have been depleted, an effect of
deforestation.

 Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of

trees.
Reforestation includes the process of planting or otherwise
regenerating and establishing a desired forest community on a
given site. An important part of reforestation is the selection of an
appropriate tree speciesnor forest community to manage.
 Common reforestation techniques include both natural and
artificial methods:

1. NATURAL REGENERATION METHODS:

Include root suckerimg, stump sprouting or natural seeding.

2. ARTIFICIAL REGENERATION METHODS:

Include aerial and ground seedinh, machine planting and
hand planting.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT ???

1. TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF HUMAN LIFE BY SOAKING UP POLLUTION AND DUST FROM
THE AIR

2. THE AIM OF REFORSTATION IS TO PLANT MORE TREES TO REPLACE THE ONE THAT HAS
BEEN CUT

3. AS MORE TREES ARE PLANTED, THE EFFECT OF CARBON DIOXIDE EMISSION TO THE
ENVIRONMENT CAN BE LESSEN SINCE THE TREES WILL ABSORB CARBON DIOXIDE
(POLLUTANTS) AND TRANSFER IT INTO BREATHABLE OXYGEN

4. THIS PROCESS IS CALLED PHOTOSYNTHESIS

5. SINCE CARBON DIOXIDE IS ONE OF THE MAJOR POLLUTANTS IN THE AIR, PLANTING
MORE TREES WILL HELP TO LESSEN THE PERCENTAGE OF CARBON DIOXIDE IN THE AIR AND
THUS, REDUCING THE IMPACTS OF AIR POLLUTION TO HUMAN BEINGS AND OTHER LIVING
THINGS.
 REBUILD NATURAL HABITATS AND ECOSYSTEMS

1. DEFORESTATION IS NOT THE ONLY REASON FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF

OUR NATURAL ECOSYSTEM

2. SOMETIMES,NATURAL PHENOMENA SUCH AS LANDSLIDES DO DESTRUCT

THE NATURAL HABITAT OF LIVING ORGANISMS IN AN ECOSYSTEM

3. WHEN REFORESTATION IS DONE IN THE DESTRUCTED AREA, IT HELPS TO

BRING BACK THE NATURAL HABITAT OF THE LIVING ORGANISMS AND THUS
BRINGING BACK THE BALANCE OF AN ECOSYSTEM
MITIGATE GLOBAL WARMING

1. Forests absorb can dioxide through their photosynthesis cycle, and by

using this idea, increasing forests with reforestation and discouraging
deforestation will help mitigate global warming.

1. There are three major strategies available to mitigate carbon emissions

through forestry activities :
There are three major strategies available to mitigate
carbon emissions through forestry
activities :

1. In crease the amount of forested land through a reforestation process.

Most of our forested lands and landscape has been changed due to deforestation.
Reforestation helps to bring back the deforested area to its original landscapes by
increasing the amount of forested land.

2. Expand the use of forest products (fruits, rubber, water, medicine, bush
meat, dyes, gums, fibres, food, saps, fodder, fish, wood, timber, chewing sticks)
that will sustainably replace fossil-fuel emissions.
3. Reduce carbon emissions that are caused from deforestation

When trees are cut down, there will be less trees to absorb the
excessive amount of carbon dioxide in the air. That is why reforestation
is done. The trees that has been cut down will be replaced and the
impact of carbon emissions in the air can be reduced .
HARVEST FOR RESOURCES

1. Reforestation need not be only used for recovery of accidentally destroyed

forests. In some countries, such as Finland, the forests are managed by the wood
products and pulp and paper industry .

2. In such an arrangement, like other crops, trees are replanted wherever they
are cut.

3. In Canada, the wood product and pulp and paper industry systematically
replaces many of the trees it cuts, employing large numbers of summer workers
for tree planting work.
BENEFITS
Reforestation bring so many benefits to our life, here are 3 of them:

1.BENEFITS TO CULTURAL RESOURCES:

Reforestation guidelines can minimize damage to cultural resources resulting from
reforestation of cut-over sites. Guidelines can protect archaeological sites from
erosion, compaction ang rutting, wich can destabilize historic buildings, structures and
historic areas.

2. . BENEFITS TO WILDLIFE HABITAT

Reforestation guidelines encourage approaches to regeneration of cut-over sites that
result in tree species diversity, appropriate species selection for a particular site, and
maintenance of habitat structure

3. . BENEFITS TO WATER QUALITY AND WETLANDS

Reforestation provide oppurtunities to reduce the potential for increased erosion and
subsquent sedimentation of water bodies and wetlands due to reforestation activities
that protect mineral soil from exposure. Guidelines that address equipment
operations maintenance can help protect water equality and wetlands.
