X = Internet use, the number of hours spent surfing the


internet.
Y = General weighted average (GWA) the achieved grade in a
given semester.
X∩Y = total variation in the dependent variable y that is
explained or accounted for by the variation in the independent
variable x.

• Descriptive method to describe the relative relation of
internet use of the respondents and academic
performance
• Chi-square method for testing relationships between
internet use and academic performance of respondents.
• Correlation method is to measure the relationship
between two or more variables
Methodology

• The respondents of this study are the students of the University of


the East Caloocan Campus who are enrolled in the first semester of
school year 2018-2019.
• Sample Size – 52 It consist of 28 male and 24 female
• Interpretation of data will be presented through the use of graphs
and tables
