1.) Kinesics – It is the science that deals
with the body movements. It includes posture ,
gesture , facil expressions and eye movement
2.) Oculesics – It is the stude of eye
contact during an interaction. It’s an integral
part of non verbal communication. It’s the
behavior of eye behavior during the
communication.
3.) Haptics – It is the study of touch.
Touch can be used to communicate affection ,
familiarity , sympathy and other emotions.
4.) Proxemics – It studies how we
communicate through the space around us.
We place ourselves at four zones i.e. intimate
zone , personal zone , social zone and public
zone.
5.) Chronemics – It is the study of use
of time in non verbal communication. It is one
of the most important parameter from
business parameter.
6.) Para language – Para language
means like language and all oral language has
para language. It’s elements are tone , pitch ,
speed of speech , pauses , fillers , volume ,
intotation.
7.) Appearance – Even the attire of the
person can add meaning to the process of
communication as it conveys about the
personality of that person.There are clothes
which are appropriate for various type of
situations
ADVANTAGES OF NON VERBAL
COMMUNICATION
• It makes use of signs and symbols and communicates any
message very quickly.
• Non verbal cues complement a verbal message by adding
to its meaning.
• It may substitute for verbal message at times of noisy
emvironment.
• It is greatly helpful with handicapped people especially deaf
people.
DISADVANTAGES OF NON VERBAL
COMMUNICATION
• Non verbal communication is quite vague and
imprecise.
• There is a great possibility of distortion of information.
• It does not follow any rules , formality or structure.
• Long conversation is not possible.
• Everyone doesn’t prefer non verbal communication.
