What is a CONFERENCE ?
• Pre-arranged meeting for consultation, exchange of
information(formal agenda)

• A Multilateral diplomatic negotiation

• Participatory meeting designed for discussion

• Meeting of experts in a particular domain that “CONFER” about


a topic

• Gathering of a Large scale of people for a specific purpose


involving discussion of common problems or activities
Features of a CONFERENCE
• Similar to classroom lectures

• Learning from peers

• Include position papers to avoid duplicity

• Audiences are experts in that particular domain

• Arranged by a Profit or No – Profit Organization


Types of CONFERENCES
• Academic Conference - in science and academia, a formal event
where researchers present results, workshops, and other activities

• Amplified Conference - talks and discussions at the conference are


'amplified' through use of networked technologies

• Business Conference/ Business Plan Conference - organized to


discuss business-related matters

• News/Press Conference - media event in which newsmakers invite


journalists to hear them speak

• Video Conference – It allows interaction via two-way VIDEO AND

• SUMMIT – It is the conference involving NATIONS or Political Parties

• Teleconference – Telecommunication(Multi-party call)

discussion relevant to the topic takes place

few speakers
