• Digitize health records on blockchain to provide patients and
care providers with secure access to medical data.
• Transfer titles of illiquid assets on blockchain to increase trade

efficiency.
• Streamline ID verification to reduce business registration times.
• Use blockchain-based wills and contracts to ease transfer of

ownership.
• Boost tourism in Dubai through a blockchain-based program

that would allow visitors to better earn and spend loyalty
points.
• Apply blockchain to trade finance to more effectively exchange

goods and the financing for those goods.
SMART DUBAI PROJECTS
 New charging stations for the growing number of electric cars in the city as well as smart
meters.
 Dubai residents can track water and electricity usage in their homes.
 Plans are also underway to introduce free Wi-Fi in all buses, taxis, and parks throughout
the city.
 Proposed power grid that would allow residents to store solar energy and sell it back to
the city.
 A person who is getting 1500 aed per month can survive here and at the same time a
person whose income is 50,000 aed can also live a life.

WASTE WATER PLANT
 Approximately 550,000 cubic metres of wastewater is generated in Abu Dhabi every day
and treated in 20 wastewater treatment plants.
 Almost all of the wastewater is being reused to irrigate green spaces.
 One such contract for two plants was awarded in 2008, one in Abu Dhabi itself with a
capacity of 300,000 cubic meter per day and one in Al Ain with a capacity of 130,000
cubic meter per day.Contracts for two other plants were awarded to Biwater under a
similar structure.
 A Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme (STEP) is to be implemented between 2008

and 2014 to establish a tunnel that will comprise 40 kilometres of deep sewerage tunnel
and two new large pumping stations to relieve Abu Dhabi Island.
 In Masdar city green spaces and agriculture near the city are to be irrigated with grey
water and reclaimed water.

The Innovation Centre is the first Positive

Energy Building in the region. This means
that over an anticipated 50-year lifespan,
the building itself will produce 140
percent of its energy requirement, thus
offsetting emissions during construction,
operation, and decommissioning. This
iconic building will be off-grid and provide
a state-of-the-art amphitheater for 700
people, as well as a spacious atrium for
exhibitions.
