What is BPJS ?
institutions established to organize social
security programs in Indonesia according to Law
Number 40 of 2004 and Law Number 24 of
2011.
Part of BPJS
1. Indonesian National Health Insurance
is a government program in the National Health
Insurance Unit (JKN)

2. Indonesian National Insurance of Employment


is a public program that provides protection for
workers to overcome certain socio-economic risks
and their implementation using a social insurance
mechanism.
Member of BPJS
Based on pasal 14 UU about BPJS , Every Indonesian citizen and foreign
citizen who has lived in Indonesia for a minimum of six months must be a
member of the
- Health insurance contributions for residents registered by the regional
government are paid by the regional government (poor and poor).

- Health Insurance contributions for participants of Wage Recipient Workers


(PNS, Members of the TNI / POLRI, State Officials, non-civil servants and
private employees) are paid by the Employer who is deducted directly from
the monthly salary received.

- Non-Wage Workers (workers outside the work relationship or independent


workers) and Non-Workers Participants (investors, companies, pension
recipients, veterans, pioneers of independence, widows, widowers, orphans
from veterans or pioneers of independence) are paid by the Participant
concerned .
Due of BPJS
- To get class I facilities, the fee is Rp. 80,000 per person per
month

- To get class II facilities, the contribution is Rp. 51,000 per


person per month

-To get class III facilities, the contribution is Rp. 25,500 per
person per month

Notes : Payment of this contribution is made no later than the


10th of every month and if there is a delay, an administrative
penalty of 2 percent of the total contributions is due.
BPJS is categorized into 3:

1- PBI (Contribution Assistance Participants)

Purely free with subsidies from the government for Indonesian citizens
who have been recommended as citizens who cannot afford it.

2- Non PBI is intended for PNS / POLRI / TNI / ABRI, organizations,


institutions and companies. Funds are borne by the institution
concerned and also partially borne by the participant.

3- Mandiri

Contribution premium with three class categories as mentioned.


Main point disagreement of BPJS
• set fees that will be paid by the community every month
• Providing protection for the socio-economic risks that afflict
participants (uncertainty)
• claims that the goal is that people "help" each other
• Funds collected from the public by the BPJS are deposited
in selected Conventional Banks, which also to get the
benefit
• BPJS participant that dies, the right to get BPJS funds will be
automatically terminated.
• Give sanctions or fines for participants who are in arrears
or late in paying premiums
• There is no sharia supervisory body (BPS) yet and there is
no audit by the National Sharia Board (DSN)
