    Waymo began developing self-driving car technology in 2009. By 2012, Waymo's vehicles had driven over 300,000 miles and completed over 10 uninterrupted 100 mile routes. From 2012-2015, Waymo worked on enabling their vehicles to drive without human intervention by adding custom sensors, computers, steering and braking components. Currently, Waymo's vehicles have driven over 6000 miles and far exceed competitors in metrics of autonomous driving. Waymo aims to make self-driving technology safer and more accessible to disabled individuals.
