MATERIAL INSPECTION
ARP-QC-002
1. To ensure that incoming materials are
properly identified and disposition prior
to storage and/or utilization.

2. To provide a detailed method of


conducting receiving inspection at CD-
Home base, the various project sites, and
Construction Fabrication Shop.

Inspection to be Performed by QC
Engineer on incoming materials shall be
according but not limited to the following
requirements.
1. Surface Appearance
2. Dimension
3. Specification
4. Traceability (as applicable)
5. Mechanical Properties (as applicable)
6. Chemical properties (as applicable)
7. Documentation

Reinforcement bars shall be identified with


color coded paint applied at the ends of
every bar.

Color coding shall be follows:

1. For non Welding grades


Grade 40 – yellow
Grade 60 – green

2. For Weldable grades


Grade 40 – yellow and red
Grade 60 – green and red
Color Coding of pipe shall be as follows (to be
used only in the absence of color coding
specified by customer):

1. A 53 - no color
2. A 106 - pink
3. A312 Grade 304-black
4. A333 - orange

Color coding of plate shall be as follows

1. A 516 - orange
2. A 515 – yellow
3. A 36 – white
4. A 283 – green

Plates shall be subjected to 100% visual and


dimensional inspection.
Structural Plates (i.e. ASTM A36, ASTM A
283) 19 mm (3/4’’) and above and
Thickness shall be subjected to lamination
checking and thickness gauging.

Boiler or pressure vessels plates (i.e. ASTM


A 515, ASTM A 516) 9mm in above
thickness shall be subjected to lamination
checking and thickness gauging.

Fittings (i.e. blind flange, Slip-on flange)


shall be subjected to ultrasonic test (UT) or
radiographic test (RT) when potential
defects are noted during visual inspection.

SINGLE SAMPLE PLAN

The Number of sample units inspected shall be equal to the sample size given
by the plan. If the number of defectives found in the sample is equal to or less
than the acceptance number, the lot or batch shall be considered acceptable. If
the number of defectives is equal to or greater than the rejection number, the
lot batch shall be rejected.

perpendicular distance between opposite faces, measure at the same transverse cross
section.
The permitted the variation shall be rounded to the nearest tenth of a millimetre after
calculation
