EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE

Evidence-based practice is the process of applying the results of outcomes of

research to improve day-to-day therapeutic recreation services to clients. Evidence-
based practice is the collective, well researched wisdom about outcomes that can be
expected from standardized clinical intervention. The primary motives behind are to
reduce risk and increase quality of care as much as possible.
Evidence-based practice is best achieved through meaningful, standardized, and
integrated treatments for which there is some evidence of efficacy. This evidence must
be gathered through well-designed and meaningful research efforts with clients and
groups and be applicable to daily practice.
IMPORTANCE OF EVIDENCE-BASED
PRACTICE

It is a primary effort to reduce widean unintended variations

in practice.
It eliminates the worst practices and and embraces the best
practices
Improves the quality and standard application of care for the
benefits of patients
