    Rheumatoid arthritis can cause diverse ocular manifestations including dry eye, episcleritis, scleritis, and peripheral ulcerative keratitis. The study examined 69 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and found that 19% had ocular involvement, most commonly keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye) affecting 13% of patients. Ocular lesions associated with rheumatoid arthritis indicate systemic involvement and are more common in patients who test positive for rheumatoid factor and anti-CCP antibodies.

    predictor of extra-articular manifestations

    Our results seem to suggest that the presence


    of rheumatoid factor & cyclic citrullinated

    CONCLUSION

    Keratoconjunctivitis sicca, episcleritis and


    scleritis are ocular manifestations that occur
    in rheumatoid arthritis.
    Immunological alterations are important
    factors in ocular manifestations.
