The document discusses motor operated valves (MOVs) including their principles, configuration, and troubleshooting. It describes how an MOV uses a motor, gearbox, and output shaft to control a mechanical device like a valve or damper. It also explains how to set the limit switch and torque switch for proper operation and provides steps to troubleshoot issues like an MOV not stopping, overloading, or a stuck valve.

Motor Operated Valve (MOV
Motor Operated Valve (MOV) or Operated Valve (MOV) define as electrical apparatu trols such mechanical device as valve, damper, etc to e and modulate them by outside input common Classification of MOV by type of rotation : 1. Quarter Turn Type (TQ) 2. Multi Turn Type (TM)
Classification of MOV by Control Method
1. On-Off Control 2. Modulating

ce of MOV rotation is a motor, motor turning A/B gear ce rotation. Worm is used to transfer rotation from ge l and output shaft. Limit switch is used to setting ope ion of output (valve, dumper, etc). Torque switch is us otect equipment for over load of output. V get over load, worm will push torque spring orque switch will work to send signal to stop motor

Limit Switch Setting Procedure 1 Open the cover of actuator 2 ulling off the indicator disc Manually setting the position of the valve (open or close) using handwheel handwheel lose setting . Pivot change-over lever manually, turning clockwise (CW) the handwheel until valve in close position b. Make sure valve in close position change-over lever c. Release change-over lever

d. Press down and turn clockwise setting spindle A with screw driver, D continue turning slowly. When pointer B has reached the mark C, E stop turning and release setting F spindle C B A 5. Open setting a. Pivot change-over lever manually, turning counter clockwise (CCW) the handwheel until valve in open position b. Make sure valve in open position c. Release change-over lever d. Press down and turn clockwise setting spindle A with Motor Operated screw driver, continue Valve (MOV turning slowly. 6. Place indicator disc in shaft, adjust indicator disc in close and open position 7. Close the cover of actuator B. Torque Switch Setting 1. Loosen both lock screws O at the torque dial 2. Turn torque dial P to set it to the required torque ( 1da Nm = 10 Nm) For example : 11.5 da Nm = 115 Nm for direction CLOSE 12.5 da Nm = Motor 125 Nm for Operated Valve (MOV Trouble Shooting A. AUMA Trouble Shooting 1. Over Torque Over torque occurs because the torque switches work. There are 2 causes : a. Limit switch cant stop MOV b. Over load

b. The closed valve is the reference point for adjustment. In this position, the operating cam must be adjusted so that limit switch S1 is actuated. The operating cam is then secured again. In the standard design, the <OPEN> position then results automatically. The handwheel must not be used
