Claude Levi-Strauss
After Studying hundreds of myths and legends from around the world, Levi-Strauss
observed that we make sense of the world, people and events by seeing and using
binary opposites.
He examined how stories unconsciously reflect the values, beliefs and myths of a
culture.
His research has been adapted by media theorists to reveal underlying themes and
symbolic oppositions in media texts.
