    Choice Board

    Visual-Spatial

    Draw (illustrate) a scene from the text.


    This product must be detailed and
    completely colored. On the back of the
    illustration, in complete sentences,
    students must explain what scene it is,
    using quotes (with page numbers) to
    support it.

    Using modeling clay (Play-Doh), create


    a figure from the story (can be a scene,
    symbol, or character). An explanation
    of your product must be supported with
    three quotes from the story.

    Choose a school-appropriate song that


    represents a character or scene from
    the story. An explanation MUST detail
    why the song best fits the
    scene/character with support from both
    the song AND text.

    Create a text conversation between


    yourself and a character from the story.
    The conversation must establish a
    topic and reflect a believable
    conversation. A reflection explaining
    why this conversation represents the
    character featured must be included
    with support from the text.

    Add yourself to the story, and write a


    journal entry about meeting a
    character for the first time. What are
    your thoughts? Where do you meet
    them? Describe the circumstances in
    detail. Your journal entry must reflect
    an actual event from the story (youre
    just adding yourself to it, remember?)
    Cite this event (page number[s]) in a
    short explanation at the end of your
    entry.

    Write a sonnet reflecting an event or


    character (an emotion?) from the story.
    The event, character, or emotion must
    be cited in an explanation at the end of
    your sonnet.

    Create three haikus that reflect an


    event, setting, character, or any other
    aspect of the story. It must include an
    explanation at the end of each haiku,
    citing support from the text.

    Choose from the following three types


    of sonnets (links are provided):
    Shakespearean
    Spenserian
    Petrarchan
