ACCESS

A&E Accreditation and Equivalency


A &E is a certification program for the out-of-school youth and adults aged 15 years old above who are unable to avail of the formal schools system, or who have dropped out of formal elementary and secondary education.

ACCESS A child and Community Centered Education System


ACCESs is a community-centered education system parallel to SBM concept anchored on four principles: Collective Leadership and Governance, Community-Based Learning, Accountability for Performance and Results, and Convergence to Harness Resources for Education, and focused on school heads management of school operations as well as resource mobilizaton to improve learners learning and being.

AASP Adopt-a-School Program RA 8525


It aims to create multiple partnerships with different business sector, NGOs, foundations, individuals and other private entities here and abroad in order to generate investmemts outside the funding mainstream and national budget by providing assistance on a short term or long term basis in the upgrading and modernization of public elementary and high schools.

ALIVE Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education


ALIVE is designed for the Muslim migrants to be able to positively contribute the peace efforts of our government in order to improve the quality of life of Muslim out-of-school youth and adults.

ALS Alternative Learning System


ALS is a free education program implemented by DepEd under the Bureau of Alternative Learning System which benefits those who cannot affod formal schooling and follows whatever is their available schedule. The program provides a viable alternative to the existing formal education instruction, encompassing both the non-formal and informal sources of knowledge and skills.

ALS-DAP ALS for Differently Abled Person


ALS-DAP aims to deliver Basic Litercay program to the special/differently abled children/out-of-school youth/adults, e.g. Hearing impaired learners who have not availed of/have no access to the formal school system through specialized approaches, e.g. Sign language.

BEAM Basic Education Assistance for Mindanao


BEAM is a project of DepEd which is geared towards the improvement of the quality of and access to basic education in Southern and Central Mindanao with an aim of attaining peace and development in Southern Philippines.

BLP Basic Literacy Program


BLP provides community-based training in basic literacy to basically illitearte out-of-school youth and adults. It seeks to develop reading, writing and counting abilities but also knowledge, skills and attitudes that are essential to survival and development in a fast-changing technological society.

BPOSA Balik Paaralan para sa Out-of-School Adult


BPOSA aims to provide literacy program and opportunities for out of school adults.

CFSS Child-Friendly School System


CFSS is a program sponsored by UNICEF that aims at putting the best interest of the child at the heart by understanding the child himself and his interaction with his environment (the home, the school, and the community) through standardized teaching system.

GASTPE
Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education RA 6728

It is a program where DepED provides subsidy to beneficiaries coming from public elementary and secondary schools to acces quality education in private schools.

HEP/HSP
Home Education Program /Home Study Program
It is an alternative delivery system of educating children who are for some reasons cannot avail of the formal system of instruction in a regular school.

INFED
Informal Education, Livelihood Education, Cultural Sports
It is another component of Alternative Learning System. It encompasses lifelong learning experiences, wider in scope than formal and nonformal education. Informal education includes short term courses and experience in the different dimensions of lifelong learning process focused on personality development, community improvement and economic upliftment.

ISB
Integrated School in a Box
It is a regional initiated flexible learning intervention program for street children/kids and out- of-school youth.

EFFICIENCY

DORP DROPOUT REDUCTION PROGRAM It is an intervention program to reduce the high dropout rate and improve learning outcomes in public and private schools by offering alternative modes of education for Students At- Risk of Dropping Out (SARDOs).

SII School Initiated Intervention


It is an intervention developed by the school itself to address specific dropout problems.
Examples : Home Visit Feeding Program Support/Adopt-A-Child Peer Mentoring In-Campus Housing Program

ADM/FLO Alternative Delivery Mode/ Flexible Learning Option


A program in a school (regular, special)or district designed to serve students at risk of faltering or dropping out due to congested classrooms, distance from school and inability to adjust to traditional classroom practices including children in emergency situations (Phil.)

Project EASE
Effective Alternative Secondary Education
It is an alternative learning system for secondary school students who cannot report to their classes regularly for justifiable reasons: part-time job/seasonal work illness/illness in the family distance from the school/absence of regular public transportation calamitous events peace and order problem

Project EASE uses a module-based approach students are given modules for them to take home and be able to study their lessons outside the classroom.

Being an independent reader, the student should pass the reading and writing ability tests in English and Filipino and the mathematical ability test.

MISOSA
Modified In-School Off-School Approach

It is an Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) that ensures equal access to quality education. It aims to:

Solve congestion in schools with big enrolment, and

address the needs of children (children who are enrolled but are habitual absentees, living in conflict/disaster areas, chronically-ill, indigenous children and those engaged in earning a living to augment family income) for adequate learning materials.

It is a technology-enhanced alternative learning delivery mode for elementary education. It was developed to address high pupil population and high percentage of dropouts.

AFLEP Adolescents Friendly Literacy Education Program


AFLEP provides target learners aged 10-19 years old with Basic Literacy about early marriage and parenting, family planning, drug prevention education and environmental education.

FFS Fit for School


It is a program which aims to address the high elementary school dropout rate, caused by illnesses such as diarrhea and dental cavities throuh the introduction of a simple health care plan for children. The importance of basic handwashing with soap, toothbrushing, and deworming of affected children through activities such as the Global Handwashing Day and the give away of the Essential Health Care Package.

QUALITY

EBEIS Enhanced Basic Eduction Information System


EBEIS is a nationally-funded program where data-based system in gathering and collecting data commence the schools in the field for both public and private sectors. It is processed online by individual schools and readily transmitted to the DBMU of the Central Office. It is userfriendly system where users can readily access data and information of respective schools.

BESRA Basic Education Sector Reform Agenda


BESRA is a package of policy reforms pursued by DepEd to improve the quality of education in the Philippines and attain the Education For All (EFA) goals in 2015.

APPES/PASBE Accreditation Program for Public Elementary School/Philippine Acceditation System for Basic Education
APPES/PASBE is the harmonization of two existing Deped accreditation system for Basic Education with the objective of making accreditation for fast-track to accommodate process of both public and private elementary and secondary schools.

ECARP Every Child A Reader Program ECARP is an institutionalized program by DepEd which enforces te policy that every child must be a reader by Grade 3.

E-Skwela
The eSkwela Project utilizes an ICT-enabled, inquiry-based interdisciplinary, and thematic approach to learning and teaching. It is a blended type of learner-centered instruction where students will have one hour of a computer-aided learning via interactive e-learning modules, one hour of teacher-led instruction, one hour of collaborative group activities and projects, community-based e-Learning Centers will be established to conduct ICT-enhanced alternative education programs for OSY and adults.

IPEP Indigenous Peoples Education Program

It aims to develop IP culture-sensitive core curriculum, learning materials and assessment tools/instruments.

KSP
Kinder Summer Program It is a month preparation for formal schooling for Grade One entrants who were not able to enroll in kindergarten program.

LB
Library Hub
It is a program by the DepED aiming to address the lack of public libraries across the countries by setting up the library hub.

MES Madrasah Education System It aims to improve the teaching competencies of Asatidz.

What is Multilingual Education


Mother tongue-based multilingual education (MLE) is education, formal or non - formal, in which the learners mother tongue and additional languages are used in the classroom. Learners begin their education in the language they understand best - their mother tongue - and develop a strong foundation in their mother language before adding additional languages.

1. Language development:

Students will establish a

Cognitive development begins at home at birth. School activities will engage learners to move well beyond the basic questions of who, what, when and where to cover all higher order thinking skills in the learners L1, their language of thought.

they will be prepared to enter and achieve well in the mainstream education system.
