FOTM
Sapphire Ball With little more than one month to go the Friends are now finalising arrangements for our summer ball. Many thanks to those of you who have generously donated prizes for our auction and raffle and a further thank you to those who have been busy selling tickets to OT's, friends, family and staff as well as the parents of the tiniest TMS Nursery children right through to our Year 8 leavers parents. This event aims to provide a wonderful social occasion for the parents of every TMS child and of course, as a special leavers treat, our Year 8 too. If you still wish to attend but have not yet purchased a ticket please don't hesitate to contact me on 07968 508941 or alternatively hand in your ticket request form to the school office. This wonderful year end event promises to be the perfect way in which to see out the last few hours of the academic year and I look forward to seeing you there on Saturday 14th July for a fun packed evening Anita Williamson, FOTM Chairman

Youth Speaks
We have just had the school heats of the Youth Speaks competition run by the Rotary Club. The whole of Year 6 wrote presentation speeches on a subject of their choice and delivered them to their class and two teachers in the first round of the competition. These were judged by their peers and the teachers against a range of criteria including : subject knowledge, clarity, audibility, structure, holding the audiences attention and confidence. All of the children performed very well and we enjoyed their talks. Six children, who scored more than 85 each in the first round, took part in the heat judged by two Rotarians and Mrs Baglin. These children were : Loveday Kossmann, Jack Brain, Charlie Sanzo, Lucy England, Seren Clayton and Ben Horler. The judges had a tough time choosing a winner, but they eventually chose Seren Clayton to go forward to the Final which is on 2nd July at Olveston Village Hall. There Seren will compete against children from other schools in the area who have undergone a similar selection process. Serens speech was on My Vision of the Future and it was a lively, imaginative presentation which amused us all. Good luck, Seren, for the next round! Ms Case Head of English
