Mormon hides most of the record in Cumorah, but retains the Small Plates, and the Plates of Mormon, which he gives to his son.

The Hill Cumorah

(24 Gold Plates, Large Plates of Nephi Brass Plates) Moroni takes 24 gold plates from Cumorah. Later he returns them with Plates of Mormon to the hill.

The Plates of Mormon include his abridgement of the Large Plates of Nephi, his personal record, the personal writings of his son, Moroni, and Moroni's abridgement of the 24 Jaredite Plates.
