    How does it work?
    The ALFA TCT provides the benets of automatic and manual transmissions without any of the downsides. Using the most efcient arrangement for a semi-automatic transmission, a dual dry clutch, the system minimises the effect of a conventional wet clutch, reducing weight, drag and friction. This helps to produce the lowest producing CO2 petrol car in its segment, available today without sacricing on performance.

    The ALFA TCT gearbox has 23 international patents which goes to show we use the most cutting edge design. In effect, employing two gearboxes one for the odd numbered gears and the other for even numbered gears. Essentially, the gearbox is prepared for the next gearchange with it already engaged. When you pull the optional steering wheel mounted paddle, the existing gear disengages and the next gear seamlessly takes over. This minimises shift time and power loss as well as wasted energy, providing quicker changes to a conventional manual. ALFA ROMEO D.N.A. A system that allows you to adapt the personality of the car to the needs of the driver and the different road conditions. Placing the selector mode into DYNAMIC, the Alfa Giulietta will behave with the sporting soul of every Alfa Romeo. All inputs are heightened; steering feel, throttle response, turbo overboost and vehicle control systems (VDC), are in their most sporting setting. With the switch in NORMAL mode everyday driving becomes fun, always ensuring comfort and a smooth ride and fuel consumption is reduced to a minimum. In ALL WEATHER mode, in the most slippery conditions, Giulietta alerts all active safety systems, including VDC and Electronic Q2. The response of the engine becomes more gradual and cautious to ensure the safest of rides.

Enjoy fully automatic or sequential transmission modes Increased fuel economy (+5.6 mpg for the petrol and +2.7 mpg for diesel models compared with manual transmission) 0-62 mph acceleration time reduced by 0.1 seconds (compared with manual transmission) Improved emissions (-13 CO2/km for the petrol and -5 CO2/km for diesel models compared with manual transmission) The lowest CO2 emissions of any petrol car in its segment, whilst still achieving an amazing 170 bhp Company Car Tax BIK of just 15% for petrol and 13% for diesel models

    ALFA TCT. Works in conjunction with the Alfa D.N.A. , altering the semi-automatic dual dry clutch transmissions responses to match the setting of the Alfa D.N.A. selector switch. For example in DYNAMIC shift times are reduced and gears are held for longer. The gearbox is in sequential mode and optional steering wheel mounted paddles are activated so the driver can change gear with the ick of a switch or a push of the TIP command gear lever. In NORMAL the gearbox is in full automatic mode providing the best setting for driver comfort and fuel efciency. In ALL WEATHER the transmission pulls away from stand still in 2nd to help maximise traction.
